I     Millions of people play their state lotteries every week. In states where there is no lottery, they often drive for hours to a nearby state to buy a lottery ticket. Casinos are popping up all over the county and the success of lotteries and casinos is based on one thing: Americans are caught up in the gambling fever.
    Many people believe that the position of the stars and planets, birth dates, the number of letters in their name, and other lucky numbers can be used to choose the correct lottery numbers and numbers association with other games of chance. How do I know this? I'm an avid lottery player, a better-than-average winner and I'm the author of It's Never Too Late To Understanding and Enjoy Casino Gambling (Pilot Books), a contributor to Lottery World magazine and other publications , and the author/co-author of 50 non-fiction books (none related to this subject). Many of my books are listed on amazon.com under my name.

A recent Gallup Poll on Gambling in America found that 57% of American adults reported buying a lottery ticket in the past 12 months. People with incomes of $45,000 to $75,000 were the most likely to play - 65 percent had played in the past year - while those with incomes under $25,000 were the least likely to play at 53 percent. People  with incomes in excess of $75,000 spend roughly three times as much on lotteries each month as do those with incomes under $25,000. The odds of winning any game of chance vary with the game. The rumor is the odds of winning the lottery are worse than being struck by lightning. No so, they say, even if we just consider the awarding of large jackpots. During one recent reporting period, 1,136 people won $1,000,000 or more playing North American lotteries. An additional 4,520 won $100,000 or more. By contrast, 91 people were killed by lightning. In addition, there's no second prize in a lightning strike.
   
World-wide, there are hundreds of millions of people who believe in astrological and numerological predictions. Astrology-buffs use astrology to determine their future and fate and everybody from the man on the street to the first lady have turned to astrologers for advice. In addition to the all-important fate, what numbers are favorable based on the position of the planets and stars? Are there such things as lucky numbers? Can these numbers increase their odds of winning number-based games? My answer is...Who knows...but let's take a look through this book and make a determination.

Gambling astrology and numerology as included in this book is a methodology to help readers determine the best time to take a risk and the numbers that are in their favor. This doesn't necessarily mean they'll be a winners every time, but they could increase their odds considerably. After they read this book, they will understand what affect the stars, planets and number have on their life, specifically on their gambling life.
   
This book explains the lotteries in each state and casino games, provides common sense advice on gambling, then offers formulas and charts for deciphering lucky numbers based on the reader's birth date, astrological sign, the letters in their name, what they feel are their life-related numbers and dated events, etc. The multiple options offers a variety of options. The book explains how they can use this information to choose numbers that are more in their favor toward winning prizes and games. One section of the book is charts showing groups of lucky numbers for specific birth dates and the positioning of the stars and planets on those dates.

Introduction
Is there something to astrology and numerology we don't know anything about? The position of the stars and planets may have an influence on our everyday life and future. Mathematics are considered to be the language of the Universe and everything, include modern computer language, has a basis in mathematics. The sciences reason that everything in the Universe has a purpose and relationship with the past and future, other living things, and what can happen an hour from now, ten years from now. It's not an exact science but to many it produces information they find useful and that dictate their life. Even non-believers read their daily horoscope in newspapers and many are influenced by what they read. They might not say so openly but if it says this could be a bad luck day,
they usually go out of their way to be careful.  Applying these sciences to more specifics like the numbers and strategies you choose to play the lottery, bet on a horse, wager on a number on a roulette wheel, and gamble on other games of chance can produce useful information. If you're currently choosing
numbers at random, like the non-believer astrology reader says: what have you got to lose?
If six turns out to be your LifePath number, then six just might be the number to keep in mind when you're making a wager. If January 20th is your birthday, the chart in Chapter
Eight can provide you with information you might be able to use, information like this:

Chapter One - The History of Gambling
    At this writing, all but two states have some form of legalized gambling. Pari-mutuel
racetracks and betting are now legal in over 40 states; lotteries have been established in 37
states and the District of Columbia, with more states poised to follow. Indian casinos
operate in every region of the country. Non-Indian casino gambling has expanded from
Nevada and Atlantic City to the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Midwest riverboats, and western
mining towns. As gambling sites proliferate on the Internet and telephone gambling is
legalized in more states, an increasingly large fraction of the public can place a bet without
ever leaving home at all. The word lottery is believed to come from the Italian word lotto,
meaning destiny or fate.
   Gambling has been around from the beginning of time and the organized lottery dates
back to the Bible. Scholars disagree on who started the tradition of lotteries, but there are
references in the Bible (Chapter 26 in the Book of Numbers) to Moses using a lottery to
award land west of the River Jordan. It's reported the Hun Dynasty in China created keno.
Funds raised by keno lotteries were used for defense and to fund armies and build the
Great Wall of China. In the 1400s, the widow of the Flemish painter Jan Van Eyck held a
raffle to dispose of his remaining paintings. In 1567, Queen Elizabeth I established the first
English state lottery offering 400,000 tickets for prizes that included cash, silver and gold
plates, and tapestry. Thomas Jefferson, $80,000 in debt at the end of his life, used a lottery
to dispose of the bulk of his property.
The Early Years
    The United States has had a long history of allowing some form of legal gambling and a degree of tolerance of illegal gambling. These changes in law have led one noted observer, Professor I. Nelson Rose, to describe three waves of gambling regulation during the history
of the colonies and the United States.
    The first wave between 1600-1800, the early colonies had very different attitudes towards gambling. Historians have classified the early settlers into two groups, the English who brought along the English traditions and beliefs, and the Puritans. Although the Puritans came from England, they came to the new world to create a better society and discard the values of their mother country. To them, the new world represented an opportunity for establishing a society grounded on Puritan values and beliefs.  Entire colonies were established along the guidelines and beliefs of one group or another. In particular, different attitudes towards gambling were enforced. In New England and
Pennsylvania, Puritan attitudes toward gaming and play were adopted. The Puritan-led Massachusetts Bay Colony outlawed not only the possession of cards, dice, and gaming tables (even in private homes), but also dancing and singing. This stance was relaxed slightly the following year so as to allow gaming as long as it was for innocent and moderate recreation and not as a trade or calling.
    In other colonies, English attitudes towards gambling and recreation prevailed. These settlers brought with them the view that gambling was a harmless diversion. In these colonies, gambling was a popular and accepted activity. Legal gambling tended to be those types that were considered proper gentlemen's diversions. For example, it took a long time for cock-fighting to become legal because it was not considered a suitable game for gentlemen. One prominent researcher speculates that the appeal of gambling was probably
heightened by the frontier spirit. The desire to explore new worlds is similar to gambling. Both rely heavily on high expectations, risk taking, opportunism, and movement.
Although the financial backers of the colonies viewed gambling as a source of the colonies' problems, they began to see it as the solution as well. The Virginia Company of London, the financier of Jamestown in Virginia, was permitted by the Crown to hold lotteries to raise money for the company's colonial venture. The lotteries were relatively sophisticated and included instant winners. Eventually, the crown banned the lotteries because of complaints that they were robbing England of money.
    Lotteries were not the only form of gambling during this era. Wagering on horse racing was a popular form of gambling. Not surprisingly, it was not quite as organized nor as elaborate as modern horse racing. Rather, the gambling was limited to a few friendly bets between owners of horses and their partisans. The first racetrack in North America was built on Long Island in 1665.
    Casino gaming started popping up around racetracks. Taverns and road houses would allow dice and card games. The relatively sparse population was a barrier to establishing gaming houses. But as the population increased, by the early 1800s lavish casinos were established.

Chapter 3 - Introduction to Numerology
     Numerology is perhaps the easiest and oldest of the arts to understand and use. All you need is the birth date and the complete name of an individual to unlock all of the secrets that the numbers hold. The end result of your computation is a number or series of numbers that are favorable for a variety of events ranging from conception and business deals to playing the lottery and casino games. My favorable number (6) has proven profitable on roulette tables in Biloxi and Las Vegas. I have to move around from table to table because the chances of the number 6 coming up over and over again on the same table is very, very unlikely. At race tracks, I always bet on horse number 6 upon arrival
and have that house has won, placed or showed 16 times out of 26 which handicappers tell me is far above average.
    Basically, there are eleven numbers used in constructing Numerology charts. These numbers are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 22. Larger numbers occur from adding the numbers in your  complete birth date or from the values assigned to your name, then reducing them down to a single digit or a core number. Simply add the components of the larger number together (repeatedly, if necessary) until a single digit (or the master/core number) results. For example, 22,456 would compute to 2+2+4+5+6 for a total of 19. 1+9=10. 1+0+1. The lucky number after all of that computation is 1.
     Master number are the only exception to rule of reducing to the single digit. The master numbers 11 and 22 are intensified versions of the single digit number they replace (2 and 4). These numbers suggest a potential for a high degree of learning and/or achievement very often in a more stressful environment. Some casino players say nothing can be more stressful than placing large best at the tables and these numbers often prove favorable in
choosing numbers.
     The first consideration of numerology is your date of birth. This date, expressed numerically, as month/day/year is used to determine what is called your Lifepath Number. In this exercise, we will also be converting your full birth name to a number. Letters and numbers, you will learn, are always one and the same. Here is a chart of the values assigned to each of the letters in the English alphabet:

    Most authorities agree that the full birth name as recorded on your birth certificate is the name that must be used for all calculations involving names. Nicknames, changed names including marriage name changes do not dilute the importance of the name given to you by your parents.
     Your Life Path is the sum of your birth date. This number represents who you are at birth and the native traits that you will carry with you throughout your life. The most important number we'll  discussed here is your Life Path number which describes the nature of your journey through life.
     First, convert the month to a single number (January is 1, December is 12, etc.). Reduce the number to a single digit. November is 11 (1+1=2), , then add the day digit and the individual digits of the birth year. If the day digit is 16, reduce the number to a single digit (1+6=7). If the date of birth is 1955, reduce that number to a single digit (1+9+5+5=20, 2+0=2).
    Example: Your birthday is February 8, 1939 (2/8/1939). Add the month (2) to the day (8) plus the total of the digits in the year (22). The total comes to 32. Then add this number together. 3+2=5; your Life Path Number is 5.
    Each Life Path number has a different characteristic. Someone with a Life Path number of 1, for example, is characterized by individualist desires, independence, and the need for personal attainment. The purpose to be fulfilled on this Life Path is that of becoming independent. This is a two part learning process; first, you must learn to stand on your own two feet and learn not to depend on others. When choosing numbers and games to play, make your own decisions. With this characterization, you're more likely to pick a winning
combination of numbers or walk up to a table that is "in your favor," on your own than asking or following the advice of others.

Characteristics of the Signs
The sun signs depict certain characteristics of mankind. Each is assigned one of the four
principle elements of nature namely:
1: FIRE (lively and aggressive)
2. AIR (lively in mind and fluent in expression)
3. EARTH (matter-of-fact and controlled)
4. WATER (sensitive and intuitive).
    Along with these charecteristic are number groups that can prove advantageous to each
group. A Capricorn, someone who is prudent, careful and disciplined, born between
December 22 and January 20, is usually not a gambler in the sense they will actually take a risk without knowing in advance what the odds are in their favor. On the other hand, Aquarians are future thinkers who plan what they're going to do but always remain unpredictable. Each birth date has a group of lucky numbers and advantage dates. A lucky number is something you can use. These numbers and dates follow you through life

    A list of state lottery winning numbers is updated every day and published on USA Today.com at (http://www.usatoday.com/leadpage/lottery/lotto.htm) and at Lotto.com (http://www.lottery.com/numbers/new_results.asp). You can choose from a variety of Lotto offerings and there are agencies online that will place bets for you in U.S. and on overseas drawings...although the legality is questionable.  At Lotto.com, you can plot lucky numbers by state. The report will show you what numbers were the most common win draws over a
specific period. For example, during a recent month in California, the number 14 was the most common number called, accounting for 7.50% of the total draws. The least common numbers called at 2.50% were 2, 19, 24, 31.
    Lottery experts report that the Florida Fantasy Five Lotto has become the most popular lotto game in the United States because it offers the best odds of any lotto game available. There is a drawing five times a week (Monday - Friday) and the Lotto pays over a million dollars (US) in prizes every draw.
    They also calculate that the odds of winning the jackpot in Florida are over 200 times greater than in any game in the world, and the prizes are paid out in cash, in full, when you win. The Lotto prizes average 170 Jackpot winners per week with an annual payout of over $250 Million (US) a year. Every week, there is an average of 375,000 winners.
    That doesn't mean that breaking the Florida lottery bank is easy. In a recent drawing the odds or winning the jackpot for picking 6 of 61 numbers, were 22,957,480-to-1. For smaller prizes:
5 of 61 numbers: 81,410-to-1
4 of 61 numbers: 1,416-to-1 (for a prize of about $70)
3 of 61 numbers: 71-to-1 (for a prize of about $5)
    Unfortunately, if you win the lottery, you don't always get cash-in-hand. The advertised jackpot is the annuitized amount, which is paid out in equal installments, so you're rich but you'll have to live on monthly payments. A cash option is usually available, but it could be as little as half of the advertised jackpot amount before any Annuity payments are guaranteed upon death to a designated beneficiary or trust.

    Pick six numbers from 1 through 53 on your Florida Lotto play slip, or mark the Quick Pick box and let the terminal randomly pick some or all of your numbers for you. Players win Florida Lotto prizes by matching three, four, five or six of the winning numbers, in any order, drawn in the official drawing for the date played.  Florida Lotto is a pari-mutuel game: Actual prize amounts depend on sales and the number of winners in each prize category. If no Florida Lotto ticket matches all six winning
numbers, the jackpot rolls over, and the Cash in the jackpot prize pool is carried over to
the next drawing.
    Florida Lotto pays multi-million dollar jackpot prizes. The advertised jackpot is an
estimate of the amount the Lottery will pay a single jackpot ticket in 30 annual payments,
based on projected sales for that draw period, plus funds rolled over from previous
drawings if any, and the
anticipated interest rate for long-term investments. The Cash Option payout is each
jackpot ticket's portion of the prize pool that is available immediately for investment. Cash
Option payouts are approximately half of the advertised jackpot amount.
     Winners who want to receive their Florida Lotto jackpot in a single Cash Option
payment must claim their prizes within the first 60 days of the redemption period. If a
jackpot prize is not claimed within the first 60 days of the redemption period, it will be
paid out in 30 Annual
Payments. Advance Play is available for up to 52 consecutive drawings (26 weeks). If you

Fantasy 5 drawing for the date played. Fantasy 5 pays an estimated top prize of $100,000 to
an average of two winners per drawing. The estimated second prize is $107 to an average of
320 winners and the estimated third prize is $10 to an average of 9,593 winners. The
approximately 92,731 players who match two numbers receive a free Fantasy 5 Quick Pick
ticket for the next available drawing. All Fantasy 5 prizes are paid in a single payment.
Lottery Play 4
     Select four digits from 0 through 9 on your Play 4 play slip, or mark the Quick Pick box
and let the terminal randomly select some or all of your numbers for you. Play 4 tickets cost
50-cents or $1 per play. Players who match all four of the winning numbers drawn in the
official drawing for the date played can win up to $5,000, depending on the type of play
purchased and the amount wagered.
Lottery Cash 3
   Select three digits from 0 through 9 on your Cash 3 play slip, or mark the Quick Pick
box and let the terminal randomly select some or all of your numbers for you. Cash 3
tickets cost 50-cents or $1 per play. Players who match all three of the winning numbers
drawn in the official drawing for the date played can win up to $500, depending on the
type of play purchased and the amount wagered.

You must be 18 or older to play New York Lottery games and 21 years of age to play Quick
Draw where alcoholic beverages are served. Go to any full-service New York Lottery
retailer and pick up a playcard for each of the games.
Games: Lotto, Take Five, Numbers, Win 4, Pick 10, Quick Draw, Instant Games
Lotto
    Lotto cards have 10 game panels. Each panel shows squares numbered 1 through 59.
Pick 6 numbers from 1 through 59.
Using a black pencil or a black or blue ballpoint pen (red ink will not be accepted), fill in
your choice of any 6 of the 59 numbered squares in a game panel. Or save time by choosing
Quick Pick and letting the computer randomly select numbers for you.
   The minimum play is $1 for two (2) game panels. Or you can play up to $5 on the
10-playcard. In the Jackpot Prize Payment Option box on the front of the playcard, you
must mark how you want to be paid should you win the jackpot prize. Choose the 26
Annual Payments box if you wish to receive the prize in 26 graduated annual payments.
Choose the Lump Sum Cash Value box if you wish to receive the prize in a lump sum cash
payment. Jackpot winners who select the lump sum cash value option will receive the
estimated present cash value of the advertised amount. This amount will be less than the
advertised jackpot.
Turn in your playcard to the retailer, and you'll receive a separate ticket for each playcard
processed.
Take Five
Select 5 numbers from 1 through 39, and fill in your chosen squares as instructed on the
playcard. Or save time by choosing Quick Pick and letting the computer randomly select
numbers for you.
Each playcard has 5 game panels, each with squares numbered 1 through 39, so you can
play up to 5 times on each playcard.
The minimum play is $1 for 1 game. Or you can play up to $5 on the 5-game playcard.
Select the number of drawings in which you wish to participate. You can play up to 7
drawings in advance - all on one ticket. Give your playcard to the retailer, and you'll
receive a separate ticket for each playcard processed.
Numbers
Go to your full-service New York Lottery retailer, and tell him your three lucky numbers
and that you want to play New York Daily Numbers. Be sure to tell him the drawing you
want to play: Midday and/or Evening. If you do not, the Lottery terminal will
automatically pick the next available drawing. Or use a playcard. Each playcard has 4
games. You may play 1, 2, 3, or 4 games. Select three digits (numbers) in each game you
want to play. For each game played, select a wager type: straight, box, straight/ box, or
combination. Ask your retailer for a Numbers brochure for an explanation of wager types.
    For each game played, select an amount to wager: 50-cents or $1.00.
If you want to play more than one ticket per game panel, select the number of tickets. Don't
forget to tell the retailer Midday or Evening drawing. For a single play, no mark is
required. You can play up to ten tickets per game panel.
If you want to play for more than one day, select a number of days and tell your Lottery
retailer if you want to play Midday only, Evening only or both daily each day of advance
play. You will receive one ticket for Midday drawings and a separate ticket for Evening
drawings. Each ticket will be clearly marked "Midday" or "Evening".
Use only blue or black pen or pencil for marking. Red ink will not be accepted. Mark your
selections with heavy vertical marks. DO NOT ERASE. If you make a mistake, mark the
VOID box for that game and move to the next game.
If you can't think of three numbers, just mark the Quick Pick option to have the computer
randomly select all of your numbers for you. No partial quick picks are allowed.
Win4
     Count the number of keys on your key chain. Try the number on your laundry ticket.
Count how many teeth you have left or, get a Quick Pick ticket and let the computer
randomly choose the numbers for you. No matter how you select your numbers, you can
win more with Win 4. The rules are similar to Numbers-the odds are higher-and the
payoff's even greater! Go to your full-service New York Lottery retailer, and tell him your
four lucky numbers and that you want to play Win 4. Be sure to tell him the drawing you
want to play: Midday and/or Evening. If you
do not, the Lottery terminal will automatically pick the next available drawing.
You can also use a playcard. Each playcard has 4 games. You may play 1, 2, 3, or 4 games. 
        Select four digits (numbers) in each game you want to play. For each game played,
select a wager type: straight, box, straight/box, or combination. For each game played,
select an amount to wager: 50-cents or $1.00. note: straight/box must select 50-cents wager
amount for total cost of $1.00 (50-cents for straight/50-cents for box).
Pick 10
    Select 10 numbers from 1 through 80 and fill in your chosen squares as instructed on the
playcard. Or save time by choosing Quick Pick and letting the computer randomly select
numbers for you.
    Each playcard has 5 game panels, each with squares numbered 1 through 80, so you can
play up to 5 times on each playcard. The minimum play is $1 for 1 game. Or you can play
up to$5 on the 5-game playcard. Select the number of drawings in which you wish to
participate. You can play up to 7 drawings in advance - all on one ticket.
Quick Draw
    Choose how many spots (numbers) you want to play on a Quick Draw playcard.           
Then, pick up to 10 numbers from the field of 1 through 80. Make sure you pick the same
amount of numbers that you chose in Section 1. Or choose the Quick Pick option. Check off
how much you wish to wager, per draw (game), then how many consecutive draws (games)
you want to play, and hand your completed playcard to a Quick Draw retailer. Every 5
minutes the Lottery's computer randomly selects 20 numbers from the field of 1 through 80
and displays them on the Quick Draw monitor. You win based on how many numbers you
match.
    Instant Games are always changing, taking out the old and bringing in the new. Here

Tri-State Megabucks
    Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire formed Tri-State Megabucks in 1985.
The player picks 6 numbers from 1 through 42 or chooses Easy Pick. Select Cash or Annuity
for jackpot payment option. The cash option results in winners receiving a one time only
lump sum payment of approximately half of the estimated annuitized jackpot. The annuity
option results in 25 annual payments of the estimated annuitized jackpot. Lack of selection
will default to Annuity. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, 7 numbers (7th number out is
Bonus number) will be drawn from a pool of 42. When a player uses Easy Pick 6 Numbers
will be randomly elected. The Megabucks Jackpot is a rolling jackpot with a guaranteed
$500,000 annuitized value. If no one wins the jackpot, the jackpot rolls to the next drawing.
The jackpot prize will be divided equally among multiple winners.
Tri-State WinCash
    The player picks 6 numbers from 1 through 36 or chooses "Easy Pick"*. On Tuesdays
and Fridays 6 numbers will be drawn from a pool of 36. When a player uses "Easy Pick" 6
Numbers will be randomly selected. WinCash is a Tri-State game which includes the states of Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire
Pick 3
    Mark the play type (s) (straight, box, front pair or back pair), amount of bet, select 3 numbers (2 numbers if only playing front pair or back pair) or Easy Pick and the number of draws for each panel. Each evening, Sunday through Saturday, a 3-digit number will be drawn. The prize levels are (based on a $1 bet): Easy pick randomly selects numbers for you.
